Vlow / USE CASE · LOCAL DICTATION

A local-first dictation app for Mac.

Vlow runs speech recognition on your Mac. Press F2 anywhere, talk, and polished text is pasted at your cursor. Cloud AI polishing is there if you want it — and off if you don’t.

What “local-first” means here

Recognition happens on-device. If you turn on optional AI polishing, the recognised text is sent to a cloud model for polishing; otherwise Vlow uses the on-device result.

Fast enough to keep up

Measured: a 2-minute recording produced polished text about 1 second after stopping (Apple silicon).

More than dictation

Verbatim / Natural / Formal modes, Translate, Prompt and Commit modes, F3 voice rewrite, voice quick notes and voice calc.

How to

Vlow is local-first: recognition runs on your Mac, and AI polishing is optional and uses the cloud only when you turn it on.
